Oberon White
Oberon White is a queer, Welsh music maker, performance artist, as well as a cabaret performer and host. A feral child of different arts practices, they present and perform original theatrical performances in the UK & abroad. Based in London, they are a fixture of the UK’s queer performance scene.
Their most recent feature-length solo performance, ‘winegod’ was developed with the support of Arts Council England, Roundhouse & The Glory & was presented to audiences across the UK. In 2020 they co-created the award winning, video mini-opera, ‘Love & Light’ for The Opera Story’s ‘Episodes’ series. They went on to create & record a series of musical pieces for an upcoming LGBTQ podcast series produced by Duckie, due for release in 2021.
As an artistic collaborator White has worked with artists including Fauve Alice, David Rosenberg (Shunt) & has been an ongoing collaborator with Marisa Carnesky. Their musical compositions & sound design have been featured at: SPILL, Roundhouse, The Pleasance, Ovalhouse & The Albany. White was a founding member & Joint Artistic Director of performance art collective, Queens of the Underworld. White is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire (2014) where they were awarded the Contemporary Vocal Prize. In 2014 they developed their debut feature-length solo show, I, Pierrot with the support of Roundhouse’s Resident Artist Scheme.
