Joan Jones

Truly Kaput





Joan has toured and performed solo as Truly Kaput, and collectively as part of the queer and feminist punk scene across the UK in bands such as The Battys and Gender Fascist. Joan has self-published the zines The Revolution Is My Boyfriend and The Sexual Life of Stevie Smith.







Working as artist in residence for the Glynn Vivian offsite project, Joan created the E.P. All I Want For Christmas Is a Hare Krishna Spongebath. Joan has created performances for Lowcs International, Cardiff Contemporary Festival, Elysium Gallery and Unskinny Bop at the BFI.  In 2018, in collaboration with Swansea-based artists Anna Barratt and Gemma Copp, Joan was part of the exhibition A Space Woman Dreams at the Glynn Vivian Gallery Swansea. Most recently Joan has made a short film, Gloomy Mayhill Walk.
