Who are we looking for?

We are looking to have a diversity of voices within our directorship, we are looking for people who are passionate about culture and the arts and who want to create change in the art world!

We want to put the queer creatives of OYF on everyone’s face and to really grow to be an organisation that not only support LGBTQ+ artists and creates visibility and opportunities for the queer community, but an organisation that is breaking moulds, and shattering barriers. We want to be the change that we want to see in the world, businesses and the art world!

We are looking to have a diversity of expertise and voices within our board of directors. We want to hear from musicians, film-makers, curators, designers and all the spectrum of creatives, as well as from people who are passionate about visibility, activism, culture and the arts.

We would like the board of directors to have a representative of all the voices and intersection of identities that the lovely queer community of Wales holds.

We are an organisation run with black feminist values (intersectional feminist). The ideal candidate will be highly passionate about inclusion, accessibility (not in the ticking box sort of way) but in shattering the patriarchy, deconstructing and destroying structures of power sort of way.

Our aim is to use curatorial activism not only through the events we create but also throughout the organisation, we want to find and reach all the voices of the community and we want those voices to be present within the decision making processes and directorship!

Because of this, we highly encourage applications from trans, QPOC and disabled queer people. Your voices are very valuable and key to the future of the queer community in Wales and OYF.

We meet weekly and if you join as a director we will be expecting you to join a minimum of two meetings a month and ideally we would like you to join each week.
