Why support us?

Your support means the world!  Since we are a non-profit organisation and we are mostly run through project grants, we have no means of covering our core cost. This is why we need you.

Currently our core tech costs range between £1,200-£1,700/year, this differs year by year, since accounting costs vary. This includes our website and domain costs, the new e-mail and our amazing crm system.
This new software has been a game changer. It has enabled us to support an increased number of enquiries and our growing directory by making registration and communication more accessible for everyone.

On the top of that, we are putting in a lot of hours of free labour in between our paid projects. This includes vital services such as running the website and directory, processing enquiries that don’t fall within projects, artists support, grant application support for artists, outreach and grant writing for OYF projects, as well as our general OYF administrative duties.

As you know we are advocates for fair pay for artists and as such, we want to honour our values and apply them to OYF team to work towards sustainability. This is one of the many strategies we are putting in place in order to self-finance to ensure that the work we do is sustainable, that we allow for the team to grow and that we can carry on doing this work.

One day, we’ll be able to cover all those hours, but for now we’re looking at covering the hard cash we’re putting into our tech costs.
